EvacGroup, an Australian private company focused on helping businesses improve fire safety and emergency planning within all facilities, today announces the appointment of Peter Watson as non-executive Chairman.

Watson brings extensive senior management and board level experience, most recently having been the Managing Director of publicly listed Sedgman, a market leading mining services business. He was widely credited with transforming Sedgman through people and culture on a global scale.

Prior to Sedgman, Watson was the General Manager of AMEC, where he delivered success in the development and execution of business activities in the Oil and Gas and resources sectors across Eastern Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. His other previous leadership roles include Manager Strategy and Development at Theiss and General Manager at Kvaerner.

“It is a privilege to take up the position as Non-Executive Director and Chairman of EvacGroup,” says Watson. “There is a rapidly growing market for EvacGroup to respond to, and the team has developed an excellent starting point for our sustained development and growth. It is an exciting time to be working with the company. For me personally, it is an opportunity to bring some of my prior experience to the organisation, help it grow, and support its future.”

Watson’s appointment is a big win for the company as we drive for significant growth in the next few years,” says Cameron Whinnett, Managing Director of EvacGroup.
